A Head Full of Dreams: The Era Begins in Style

Well, what a week!

Following the rumours surrounding the mysterious posters that began appearing across the globe last week (you can read our blog post about this if you missed it) Coldplay pretty much officially confirmed the poster was theirs on Monday.

They continued to tease us every day, posting what would eventually turn out to be the A Head Full of Dreams album cover on Tuesday:

A snippet of their first single followed on Wednesday: (along with a mysterious “#AOAL” which fans quickly figured out stood for Adventure of A Lifetime thanks to shazam)

On Thursday the band confirmed the date and time of the premiere of their first single through this video:

On Friday, we heard the first single from A Head Full of Dreams: the wonderfully upbeat song Adventure of a Lifetime, which you can listen to here:

They also confirmed the cover art for the album:

Which will be released on December 4th.

The tracklist is as follows:

1. A Head Full Of Dreams
2. Birds

3. Hymn For The Weekend

4. Everglow

5. Adventure Of A Lifetime

6. Fun

7. Kaleidoscope

8. Army Of One

9. Amazing Day

10. Colour Spectrum

11. Up&Up

The album is said to be “bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments” and the band “have never enjoyed making a record more than this one. Nor have they been happier with the results.”

We can’t wait to hear it!

The entire band spent a day doing promo for the single and album, with interviews on various UK radio stations.

It began with a hilarious interview on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast show, where Chris sang some songs about mundane tasks:

Next, Chris and Jonny appeared on Absolute Radio:

Chris and Jonny also visited Heart where they played a game of ‘Would You Rather?’

They both appeared on Capital FM where they announced they would be performing at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball in London on the 5th of November.

The band also announced that they will be doing a live stream on TIDAL this Friday, from their show at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, where they will perform new tracks from the album.

You can enter to win free tickets to the show here.

Another contest is through iHeart Radio where you can win the chance to join Coldplay at their album release party in Los Angeles on November 19th. You can enter this contest here

To end their day of promo, Coldplay performed Adventure of a Lifetime on the British TV show TFI Friday. International fans seemed to find the show a bit strange, which can be forgiven when you watch this clip of Chris playing a banana piano:

You can watch their live debut of Adventure of a Lifetime here:

It promises to be an epic few weeks of promo, with promises of a tour announcement too. The band will be performing at the NRJ music awards in France later today. So make sure you follow our social media to keep up to date:

We’d also love to hear your thoughts on the album and single, both have proved to be highly popular with fans but what do YOU think? Make sure to leave a comment below!
